Radiology also called diagnostic imaging refers to a series of different tests that help to take images of various parts of body utilizing different forms of energy including magnetic fields, sound waves, X-Ray or radioactive particles which traverse the human body. Here, the changes in energy patterns are visualized using special devices that change these patterns into images. Moreover, the images depict normal as well as abnormal functionality of human body. Different branches of radiology utilize different kinds of technical equipment for enabling safe emission of radiations that facilitate diagnosis as well as treatment of diseases.
Radiology’s role is central to disease management with a wide choice of tools and techniques available for early detection, prompt diagnosis, accurate staging and complete treatment of a disease. Radiology also plays an important role in treatment monitoring with imaging and diagnostic methods.
ULTRASOUND
Ultrasound imaging also called ultrasound scanning or sonography uses high frequency sound waves to look at the organs and structures within the body. Ultrasound examination does not use ionizing radiations as used in X-rays, as ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show the structure and movement of the body’s internal organs, as well as blood flowing through blood vessels. Ultrasound imaging is a noninvasive,less expensive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions precisely and accurately.
Our department is providing expertise of ultrasounds in wide range including abdomen and pelvis, musculoskeletal, renal, thyroid, breast, carotid and peripheral arterial and venous dopplers and ultrasound guided aspirations, biopsies and fine needle aspirations.
X-RAY
This is the basic form of imaging that uses radiations to allow for the visualization of internal structures and organs. It is a noninvasive and safe diagnostic tool as the X-Rays are limited to the area of interest.
In addition to the chest and musculoskeletal X-Rays our department also offers contrast studies like Barium swallow, Barium follow through ,barium enema , T-tube cholangiogram,, Hysterosalpingogram, IVU and MCUG etc.
CT Scan
Sometimes called CAT scan is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnosis and treat medical conditions. CT scan combines special X-Ray equipment with sophisticated computers to produce multiple images of internal organs. CT scan provides greater clarity and reveals more details than regular X-Rays.
At ANTH we are using specialized equipment and expertise to create and interpret CT scan of the body. We offer patients the best scanner technology available and provide images of exceptional quality round the clock. Radiologists can diagnose diseases such as cancers, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, appendicitis, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders etc more accurately via computed Tomography (CT) scanner that provides uncompromised image quality and outstanding clinical performance.
